Martin has been a professional sports bettor since he graduated from high school and he has been a Life Member in Bridge since he was twenty-one. When he won the largest single prize ever awarded to a poker player for his win at the WPT Five Star Poker Classic Championship he became a noted world class poker professional. Martin's ap-proach to poker had himreading everything on the game and he credits Doyle Brunson's "Super Systems" as being the major positive influence. His basic game philosophy is "To respect, but never to fear your opponent."
