As a beginner I wanted to check out Poker Stars for playing free poker online.


Poker Stars allow beginners a chance to play texas hold em online for free to improve not only your play, but also get familiar with the software that poker stars uses.

First from the Poker Stars lobby I chose tourney and then free roll. I found a tournament starting a time that suited me and promptly registered.


Over 7.500 players were in for the same event. Time came for the online poker tournament to start a new window opened with my poker table and other players seated. Sudgie, our resident poker guru had popped round so he hung around to watch me play.





I started with 1500 in chips and lasted for about 25 minutes ! finishing in 4930th place so certainly could have been worse. Certainly some of the people I was up against at my table could play, but the experience was fun.





I suggest anyone wanting to try playing online poker, to try the free rolls at poker stars, just go and download the software , enter a user name and your are up and running.
