Los Angeles Lakers owner, Jerry Buss, was so impressed with the poker play of Johnny Chan he promised him an NBA Championship ring if he won the WSOP for a record three straight in 1989 and Johnny almost collected when he finished second. Johnny Chan is considered a living legend in professional poker circles after his rapid rise from being an emotional, quick tempered kid to a consistant tournament winner. With his trademark orange on the table next to his chips Johnny has become a feared competitor at the side games as well as the tournament tables.
