There are several poker tournaments going on in Mississippi right now. The 2006 World Poker Open is taking place at the Gold Strike Casino in Tunica. The lower buy-in events started on January 9th.


This tournament is pretty Hold’em heavy. Here’s the current tournament winners courtesy of Card Player Magazine:

The 2006 Jack Binion WSOP Tournament Circuit-Grand Tunica is the other tournament and it started on January 5th. This tournament structure is a little better because the WSOP scheduled several non-Hold’em events.
