Russ "Dutch" Boyd takes home his first WSOP bracelet. Joseph Hachem finished in second place. On the last hand Hachem raised pre-flop to $60,000. Dutch Boyd went over the top all in with A 5 .


Joe Hachem called with A Q . The flop was A K 9 as Joe Hachem threatened to double through once again. The turn brought the J .


The 5 came floating down the river to give Dutch Boyd the 2006 World Series of Poker $2,500 short-handed championship.


Joe Hachem received $256,800 for second place. The win was good for 425,712 and the bracelet.

04th July 2006 : Mike Sexton Wins $1,000,000.

Mike Sexton is the Winner of the 2006 Tournament of Champions and collects $1,000,000


Mike Sexton limps in and Daniel Negreanu raises to to 64k. Sexton then raises up to 180k and gets a call. The flop comes 10d 8d 4s and Negreanu pushes all in.
Sexton immediately calls and shows Ah Ac. Negreanu shows his cards Qh Jh and knows he need to improve.

The turn brings the Ad, giving Sexton trips but also giving Negreanu a double gutted straight draw. The river is no help to Daniel - 8c. Mike Sexton wins the 2006 Tournament of Champions and $1,000,000.


Daniel Negreanu finishes second and wins $325,000.
